Published on 24 October 2022

If you have a passion for both viewing and creating artwork, then Port Noarlunga is the place to visit during November.

Port Noarlunga’s Art Precinct (Sauerbier House and the Arts Centre) is hosting three exhibitions and four workshops in November, offering visitors the chance to experience the work of some of the region’s most talented artists, and to have a go at creating their own masterpieces.

Sauerbier House in Wearing Street, Port Noarlunga is a City of Onkaparinga contemporary arts initiative that offers both galleries and interactive artist-in-residence studios to visit. During the month of November Sauerbier House offers the following exhibitions and workshops:

If you’re quick you can still catch In Place, an exhibition by artist-in-residence Callum Docherty which runs until 29 October and entry is free. Riverside, an exhibition by artists-in residence Lucy Turnbull and Kelly Reynolds is where art and architecture meet. Riverside also runs until 29 October and entry is free.

The Arts Centre in Gawler Street, Port Noarlunga is home to local arts, crafts and theatrical groups. Arts Centre will be offering a range of exhibition and workshops during November:

  • The Spectacular SA Sea Slug Show features some of the best examples of sea slug art in South Australia, by a group of dedicated nature artists and photographers. The exhibition runs from 28 October to 5 December and entry is free.
  • Paint a Magpie Workshop where you can join artist Sonja Maclean for an afternoon of art, food and wine as she guides you through how to paint an iconic Australian magpie. Date is 12 November and cost is $85.

It’s not too late to book the Upcycling with Shibori Workshop by Kate Fitton. On Saturday 29 October you can upcycle your old natural fibre clothing and bedding items using different shibori techniques. Entry is $75.
