Settle in for a seaside staycation

It’s a hidden gem for family fun, relaxation, creating great memories and enjoying days by the beach. The local haven we’re referring to is Moana Beach Tourist Park.
The family-friendly park is the perfect place to escape, unwind and holiday in your own backyard, year-round.
Whether you prefer setting up a swag under the stars or a cabin to fit explorers of all ages, Moana Beach Tourist Park has a range of accommodation to suit everyone.
There are 17 self-contained cabins of various sizes, and for those in tents and caravans there are 103 powered sites to settle into.
A new fully-equipped camp kitchen with four barbecues is ideal for a big cook-up and has become a popular meeting place amongst visitors to share a story (and snag) or two.
If keeping the little ones entertained is a must, there are two tennis courts, a basketball ring and pedal carts available to hire.
Of course, the location is a major drawcard with the beach right on your doorstep.
Within only few minutes’ walk, you’ll have soft sand underfoot and waves lapping at your toes. Bliss, right?!
For those keen to explore a little further, a 10-minute drive lets you soak in the sights and sips of one of the state’s premier wine regions, McLaren Vale. An extra five minutes away is Willunga, home to charming shops and eateries and the 18-hole Willunga Golf Course.
For frequent intrastate travellers Isaac and Ellie—who are also Onkaparinga locals—Moana Beach Tourist Park is an easy, weekend getaway location.
“The park has everything I need to relax and enjoy the simple things, and the location is ideal for swimming, kayaking and fishing,” says Isaac.
“It’s a great way to escape and hit reset, without going too far.”
Ellie agrees. “Sometimes the best getaways are just around the corner.”
The tourist park is one of two owned and operated by the City of Onkaparinga, the other being Christies Beach Tourist Park.
Nestled next to the beach, this small, boutique tourist park has breathtaking views of Gulf St Vincent. It has 10 self-contained cabins and 61 powered sites.
The park features a large camp kitchen, small playground, and pedal carts and lawn games available for hire.
The friendly teams at both sites are always happy to help visitors and share insider tips on the must-see spots and activities in the area.
“Moana and Christies Beach tourist parks attracts people from all over the state, with their perfect blend of relaxation, adventure and coastal charm,” says Nick Carr, City of Onkaparinga’s Team Leader Golf and Tourist Parks.
"They’re a great place to visit year-round and the perfect base to explore what the region has to offer."
“There’s so much to discover in Onkaparinga, and if you’re a local you’re bound to find something new to enjoy.”
So, for a hassle-free holiday by the sea, look no further than Moana Beach and Christies Beach tourist parks. Paradise on your doorstep.
