Top tourist parks

Christies Beach Tourist Park and Moana Beach Tourist Park are ideally situated for visitors to enjoy everything the area has to offer.

Each year almost 90,000 guests visit the two parks, and when you consider their location, their popularity is hardly surprising.

“Guests are attracted by the close proximity to the beaches,” says Chris Simpson, City of Onkaparinga’s Recreation and Facilities Officer. “The beautiful beaches are only a stone’s throw from the parks.”

It’s easy to see what Chris means. Both parks look out over one of the region’s most spectacular stretches of coastline, and guests staying at either park enjoy easy access to the beach; all they need to do is walk out the back gate.

What’s more, as Christies Beach Tourist Park guest Greg [pictured] points out, the beach isn’t the only attraction close to the parks.

“You’ve got the wineries down the road, and the surrounding area is beautiful,” says Greg, who is staying at the park for three weeks. “It’s so easy to go and find really pretty places. There are some beautiful little towns and little cafes.”

Diane, who is staying at Moana Beach Tourist Park, agrees. Originally from Germany, Diane has been staying at the park for eight weeks with her husband and their two dogs.

“It’s so beautiful here. I really fell in love with the green hills, and the beaches,” she says. “It’s unlike anywhere else we’ve been in Australia. It’s just awesome.”
