Hit your fitness goals for six and meet new friends with a new over-60s Walking Cricket program—just one of a range of fun programs available through the Coromandel Community Centre for all ages.
Presented in partnership with the Coromandel Ramblers Cricket Club, Coromandel Valley Croquet Club and the South Australian Cricket Association, the fun, social and modified version of cricket will be played at the Coromandel Croquet Club, supporting mobility, balance and overall fitness.
Suitable for all experiences and skill levels, the sessions will take place on Wednesdays 23 and 30 March, from 10am to 11:30am for $5 per person (includes tea and coffee). Bookings are preferred - register your interest at info@coroalive.org.au or call the centre on 8370 6880.
Another program for adults who are looking to increase their flexibility and endurance is Strength for Life. This personalised program is tailored to individual ability with sessions held in a social group environment by a qualified instructor.
For junior residents, arts programs for six-to-eight-year-olds and for those aged nine-and-up allow children to explore their inner artist in a fun, social, supportive, relaxed and creative environment.
For even younger children who like to get their kicks outside, check out the Outdoor Fun Playgroup allowing children aged zero-to-five, accompanied by parent or carer, to enjoy outside play, craft and music time.
To see the full suite of events, ongoing programs, and one-off workshops, visit the Coromandel Community Centre website, or call 8370 6880 for more information.
For those toying with the idea of becoming a volunteer but who aren’t sure how to go about it, the centre offers a variety of volunteering opportunities.
The centre’s strong and committed volunteer program supports management, daily administration and community activities, and you can choose how much time you’d like to devote to lending a helping hand—a little or a lot.
Coromandel Valley is just one of Onkaparinga Council’s nine community centres, all offering a great place to learn new skills, meet new people and explore volunteer opportunities.
