Have your say on Reynella mural
Published on 19 April 2022
Reynella Neighbourhood Centre is getting a new mural and City of Onkaparinga wants your feedback by Monday 16 May.
Reynella Neighbourhood Centre, located on Old South Road, Old Reynella, is a place that proudly represents the local community by offering a range of programs and services while acknowledging its history of being one of the first wine and farming communities in the south of Adelaide.
The building itself has been a vibrant part of the local community since 1954. More recently, the centre responds to community needs by facilitating services, programs and activities in a caring, supportive and inclusive environment.
Council is seeking community feedback on the proposal of a mural to enhance the southern external wall of the centre, which faces Reynell Road (pictured).
You can have your say by completing the survey on council's Your Say page or by attending the upcoming face-to-face session at The Vines Market (at the centre) on Saturday 30 April, 10am to 1.30pm.
The public art project comes in the wake of two murals in nearby Old Reynella, including an eye-popping mural at the Noarlunga Model Railroaders Inc. building.
Next steps
Once the Your Say engagement has closed, council will call for expressions of interest for artists/artist teams. The outcomes of the community engagement process will inform the remainder of the artist brief, and the final artist/artists selection will be assessed against their ability to address the brief.
It's estimated the successful artist(s) will commence the mural in November and be completed by December 2022 (may be subject to change).
