Help shape council's major events

The City of Onkaparinga wants to hear what you think about the events presented by council, what might make them more appealing to you, and what suggestions you have for the future.

Council has a long history of delivering events for the community’s benefit, delivering numerous smaller events alongside five major events each year. The five major events are:

  • Trucks on Tour (October)
  • Onkaparinga Christmas Pageant (November)
  • Tour Down Under stage(s) – in partnership with Events South Australia (January)
  • Australia Day Bush Fair (January)
  • Beachside Food and Wine Festival (February/March).

Events play an integral role in enhancing the lives of Onkaparinga’s residents through improved community wellbeing, building social capacity, instilling a sense of community pride and creating vibrant places.

Along with the community and social benefits, major events showcase and promote the city, creating repeat visitation, overnight stays and injecting money into the local economy.

The City of Onkaparinga wants your feedback so it can continue to improve the major events for the benefit of Onkaparinga’s communities. Council is also considering alternative or additional events based on previous suggestions from community members.

You can have your say by completing a Your Say Onkaparinga survey by Sunday 19 February.

All participants will remain anonymous, and any quotes or statistics will not be attributed to individuals. The survey results will be presented to Council in mid-2023 to consider the feedback and approve any changes to the major events in time for the 2023–24 summer event season, which is anticipated to commence in November.
