Happy International Men's Day!

Happy International Men's Day!

Celebrated annually on 19 November, International Men's Day raises awareness for many issues that men face, including health and wellbeing challenges. There were several events held in the City of Onkaparinga today to celebrate International Men's Day including:

  • a barbecue lunch at Morphett Vale positive ageing centre Wakefield House to celebrate the positive value men bring to their families and communities. Approximately 65 people attended for lunch; to enjoy snooker, games, darts, music and darts; to share information and make new connections
  • a new MEN-tality event supporting young men's wellbeing through mentoring and connection. Twenty young men came together to celebrate the day by playing outdoor laser tag at Aldinga Payinthi College, followed by dinner and the sharing of personal stories by older men in the community. Onkaparinga Youth's Studio 20 Youth Centre partnered with Good Better Best Men, The Next Step Australia and the Southern Men's Association to create connection and provide mentoring on the day. If you're interested in finding out about future events email aldingayouth@onkaparinga.sa.gov.au
