More awards for Onkaparinga

Onkaparinga has been recognised for its world-renowned food and wine, a young sportsperson and Lonsdale’s fantastic manufacturing hub.

This time of the year sees a host of state and national awards being presented, so here is a shout-out to some recent home-grown winners and nominees.

The creative duo behind Willunga natural wine bar Muni were named Best New Talent in the 2023 Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards. Co-owners Mug Chen and Chia Wu have started off their business journey with a bang by winning a category in Australia’s longest-running restaurant awards.

McLaren Vale’s Mollydooker Wines won the South Australian Beer, Wine and Spirit  Award in the 2022 South Australian Premier’s Export Awards. At the same awards night, Lonsdale’s REDARC Electronics took out South Australian Exporter of the Year.

Feather&PECK, a pasture-raised egg company in Willunga are finalists in this year’s South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards. They are named in two categories – the Business Excellence Award and the Sustainability Award. Winners will be announced at the Industry Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 11 November and other finalists include some of South Australia’s most recognised food brands including Bickfords, Beerenberg Farm, Maggie Beer Products, Nippys and Vili’s Family Bakery.

Lonsdale’s Uniquely Natural has taken out the title of Business of the Decade in the Australian Small Business Champion Awards. This dynamic local enterprise produces natural hair care skin care and cleaning products and is an Australian-made and owned family business.

Aberfoyle Park’s Joshua Worley (pictured) was a nominee in the 2022 NAB AFL Auskicker of the Year Award. This award celebrates Aussie kids through grassroots football who simply love to play the game. Joshua was one of 23 nominees from around Australia and, as a nominee, he featured in the Grand Final Parade and presented a premiership medal at the 2022 AFL Grand Final match.
