Get social at Aberfoyle Community Centre

Aberfoyle Community Centre is offering residents more great opportunities to get out of the house and make new friends, keep fit and just have some fun.

Starting this month there are two new social programs at the centre including:

  • Chat & Chill where you can play some cards or board games, or simply have a chat over a cuppa and some afternoon tea. Starting on 9 February, Chat & Chill happens fortnightly on Wednesdays from 1 to 3pm and costs $5 per session.
  • Social Walking Group where you can socialise and make new friends while enjoying a relaxed pace walk together. From 15 February this free friendly walking group meets at Happy Valley Reservoir main entrance (cnr Chandlers Hill Rd and Kenihans Road) every Tuesday from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

Then, in March, you can 'yee-ha' your way into some boot-scooting fun when evening line dancing classes commence. Beginners are welcome and there is no need for a partner.

Commencing 8 March by popular demand (following afternoon classes on Mondays), evening line dancing classes will be held on Tuesdays from 7.30 to 8.30pm and costs $6 per class

For more information on any of these new programs please phone 8488 2035.

Aberfoyle Community Centre is located at 1 Jessica Street, Aberfoyle Park and other regular programs available include Tai Chi and Chair Stretch & Flow for those seeking gentle physical exercise, Sit & Sew and Happy Snippers for the craft minded along with Singing for Fun and Shutterbugs (a photography group). There is even a regular Men’s Breakfast. To check out all the community programs on offer at Aberfoyle Community Centre visit council’s website.

Aberfoyle Park is just one of Onkaparinga Council’s nine community centres, all offering a great place to learn new skills, meet new people and explore volunteer opportunities.
