Reynella business wins Telstra Best of Business Award

A Reynella business has been crowned as a South Australian winner of the Telstra Best of Business Awards. 

Discount Party Supplies has taken out the state gong for the Outstanding Growth category against some very stiff competition. The category honours businesses achieving significant growth and contributing to building a more resilient Australian economy. 

Discount Party Supplies are a family-owned business with over 50 dedicated team members who are passionate about delivering party supplies for all of life’s celebrations. 

The co-owner of Discount Party Supplies, Kirsty Chapman-Smith said she and her husband were very humbled to have received such a prestigious award. 

“I believe what impressed the judges was how we are growing a healthy business focusing on our customer and employee experiences," Kirsty said.

"Discount Party Supplies has seen year-on-year growth of around 60 per cent for the past three years. We are currently expanding our Reynella premises which will inject over $2.5 million into the local building industry. To support our growing operations, our team of 50 will grow to around 80. 

"The Telstra Best of Business Award not only recognised our revenue growth but our continual development of our infrastructure, people and systems."

Discount Party Supplies will now compete in the national Telstra Best of Business Awards finals to be held in Sydney in April. 

Another business located in Lonsdale,  Uniquely Natural was also named as a finalist in the Promoting Sustainability category. 

Uniquely Natural founder, Edwina Pearce was excited to be named as a state finalist in her category. 

“Our business makes affordable beauty and household products that are kind to your body and kind to the environment," Edwina said.

"A big part of our success has been our determination to champion the Australian Made and Owned philosophy as well as having a clear focus on our environmental impact. 

"We hope our state finalist award encourages other businesses in the region."

The Telstra Best of Business Awards were created to give small to medium-sized businesses a platform to celebrate achievements and stories with their peers, and opportunities to learn from Australia's best business minds. The 2022 awards attracted 24,000 nominations from across Australia.
