Name this space
City of Onkaparinga needs your help to name four unnamed reserves and parks across the city.
A shortlist of names for each of the reserves and parks—at Coromandel Valley, Aldinga Beach and Christie Downs—has already been created, following suggestions from the community during previous public engagements.
You can now vote on your favourite names from the shortlists at council’s Your Say page until 9am on Monday 20 September.
The reserves and parks are located:
- at Coromandel Valley—on the corner of Avondale Road and McKenzie Street
- at Aldinga Beach—one on Greenlees Parade and one on Periwinkle Drive, separated by Pridham Boulevard
- at Christie Downs—on the corner of Morton and Flaxmill Roads, which is the site of the soon-to-be-launched sports and community hub.
The shortlisted names have been assessed against the criteria outlined in council’s Place Naming Policy, and council also considered whether an Aboriginal name may be appropriate for the sites.
Head to council’s Your Say page to learn more information about the shortlisted names and council’s place naming processes, and to cast your vote.
