Bring your idea to life with an Onkaparinga grant

Published on 15 July 2026

The City of Onkaparinga's 2026–27 Grants program is now open. So if you have a creative idea with potential to make a positive difference in the community, read on.

Up to $10,000 in funding is available to eligible applicants who meet the criteria in the following annual grants categories:

Community events and festivals
Connected and sustainable communities
Community facilities development fund.

And up to $7,500 in funding is on offer through the Local artists grant to support the creative practice of local individual artists and groups.

City of Onkaparinga Grants Advisor, Hannah Sarsons explains why the council offers grants. “The council engages in grant making because we know we can’t achieve great things in the region on our own. We need to partner with community, businesses, and not for profits to support new and already incredible activities and initiatives being driven within the community that benefit it.”

Quick response grants are also available throughout the year (until funding is fully allocated). These include smaller Pathways grants for residents wishing to pursue development opportunities and Community grants that support local connection, inclusion, access and participation projects.

Those unsure of how to write a grant application, are encouraged to attend one of the free online information sessions and grant ready workshops that will be held in July and August.

The annual grants round closes on 26 August.
