Celebrate Pride Month at Studio 20 Youth Centre
Aldinga’s Studio 20 Youth Centre is celebrating Pride Month with a free event on Friday 24 June.
Featuring an interactive art workshop with Mitch Hearn, a glitter bar, fairy floss, yummy food and DJ SVVLO on the tunes, the 5:30pm to 8pm event is open to 16-25-year-olds from the LGBTQIA+ community and friends.
Free tickets are now available for the event, which is hosted by Onkaparinga Youth and headspace Onkaparinga—register via council’s website/Eventbrite to secure your spot before they run out!
Every June, Pride Month celebrates the diversity of the queer community. It's a time to reflect on just how far civil rights have progressed in half a century and an opportunity to raise awareness and encourage inclusiveness.
LGBTQIA+ is an inclusive acronym that includes people of diverse genders and sexualities, such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual, and pansexual.
Studio 20 Youth Centre, next to Aldinga Shopping Centre, provides programs and activities for young people aged eight to 25 years with a particular focus on art. It’s one of four council youth centres.
