Get set for the Mv2 Cup

Southern Adelaide's premier local skateboarding competition, the Mv2 Cup, returns to Christie Downs this Saturday 29 November.

The City of Onkaparinga's Youth team, in partnership with Mv2 Skate Shop and Free Mind Skate School will host the fourth annual event from 10am to 5pm at Niipu-niipu Wama/Morton Park (Morton Road Skatepark).

This popular grassroots skate competition is a highlight on the local youth calendar, drawing competitors and spectators from across the south. The event celebrates skate culture and provides young people with a positive, inclusive space to connect, compete and build confidence.

The Mv2 Cup is part of a broader initiative with the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation, which delivers free weekly skate coaching at local parks. The program continues to foster pathways for young people to develop their skills both on and off the board.

Last year’s event saw record participation, with more than 100 competitors and up to 500 spectators. Notably, 2024’s second-place Opens Male winner, Bohdi, has since become the only South Australian skater in the Pathway to the Olympics Program, a testament to the opportunities this event can create.

The Mv2 Cup wouldn't be possible without the support of major sponsors and local businesses.
