Art Shop goes online
Have a browse through the new online reiteration of The Art Shop, in the Arts Centre at Port Noarlunga.
The Art Shop, located in the foyer of the Arts Centre in Gawler Street, Port Noarlunga, showcases more than 500 beautiful and unique pieces created by talented local artists. Now the Art Shop’s online store is open for browsing and features the same original artworks, including handmade jewellery, paintings, woodwork, ceramics, textiles and cards.
The online shop features hundreds of the items displayed in-store with new artworks being added every day.
“There’s a vast collection of artworks on show,” says Arts Project Officer Nerissa Galloway. “There’s something to intrigue everyone, from cards featuring images taken by photographic artists, to a huge range of jewellery made with metals, paper, glass and acrylic. There are also beautiful textiles with artworks printed or hand-painted on silk and felt, and ceramic vases, bowls and cups.
“The Art Shop and online shop is a great place to buy gifts. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to pick up something spectacular,” Nerissa says.
Featured in the online shop is a new colouring-in book titled Colours of the Fleurieu, created in association with local artists Donna Chess, Kirstie McGregor, Lesley Redgate and Mary Pulford. The 24-page book includes six pages from each artist. The artists worked collaboratively to avoid overlap of the designs.
“The colouring-in pages are a homage to the Onkaparinga area,” Nerissa says. “People will be able to recognise many of the views of the Fleurieu including landmarks and towns, local birds and fauna, coastal views and sea life.”
Colours of the Fleurieu is also available for sale at the Arts Centre and wholesale enquiries are welcome.
